Call for Applicants :
Environment and Climate Change Department is now working on the five elements of environment. With the aim of creating awareness amongst the youth about Panchatattva based elements department introduces an “Environment and Climate Change Internship Programme 2020- 21” for students. This Programme seeks to engage 10 students with Graduation / Post Graduation Degree and Research Scholars enrolled in recognized University/Institution within India or abroad, as "Interns". These "Interns" will be given exposure to various units of the Department. For the "Interns" the exposure to the functioning of the Department may be an add-on in furthering their future interests. They will also be involved in the flagship program - ‘Majhi Vasundhara’ Campaign launched by Honorable Minister, Environment and Climate Change on 2nd October 2020.
Objectives of the Programme :
To allow young academic talent to be associated with the Department’s work for mutual benefit. The "Interns" will get exposure of departments day to day operations and will get an opportunity to know about the government functioning, regulations, policies etc.

Educational Qualification :
The candidates must be a graduate or pursuing Post-Graduation /PHD , from any recognized University/ Institution within India or abroad form the following Streams with minimum 60% marks
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Environmental engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Robotics
- Mass Communication
- Graphic Designer
- Web Designer
Age limit :
The age of candidate should not be more than 25 years, as on October 31st , 2020
Period of Internship :
It's a 6-month long internship. The best performing interns will get an extension of 5 months.
After a total 11 months there will be no extension.
Stipend :
Rs 15,000/ per month ( Rs Fifteen thousand only per month)
Language :
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak Marathi language.
Adequate knowledge of Hindi and English will be required.
Base location :
The internship is based at Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Department of Environment and Climate Change will decide the office location based on the requirement.
Candidates will have to travel to the office. The department will not pay any travel allowance.
Software proficiency :
Proficiency with Microsoft office package is expected.
For media intern: Candidates should have knowledge of design tools and paid tools for marketing
Procedure for Applicants :
Interested candidates are required to apply by online mode only. Applications which are submitted apart from online mode will not be taken into consideration.
Candidates are required to upload Age proof ( Birth Certificate/ School leaving any one showing date of birth- PDF /JPG file), Graduation / post Graduation proof (Degree Certificate/ Latest Marksheet - PDF /JPG file) , CV (Current photograph affixed, Maximum 2 pages , font size minimum 11- PDF /JPG file).
The candidates need to submit a Statement of purpose (SOP) /Essay (not more than 500 words .DOC and PDF file) describing their suitability for the internship. In the SOP/Essay, he/she needs to state why he/she wants to work with the Environment and Climate Change Department, GOM. What motivates him/her the most to work towards environmental conservation and sustainable development? Why he/she thinks he/she is fit for the job.( Mention your name in Capital and Bold, mail id and mobile number on the top of the document .Keep two line gaps after the name and contact details and then start the SOP/Essay ).
Candidates can clearly indicate their area of interest from energy, water, industry, social media, electric vehicles etc. Though based on the CV and Statement of purpose (SOP) / Essay the department will decide the sector/project where the intern will be deputed.
For media intern, the applicant needs to upload two work samples in PDF/JPG format.
Note : the SOP/ Essay will be run through anti Plagiarism App. Hence, it is suggested the applicant should write their own thoughts and put original content in the SOP/ Essay.
Selection Process :
All applications received are scrutinized at the department level and SOP/ Essay uploaded by the candidate is evaluated and given marks out of 50 . The first 200 candidates who will score maximum marks based on their CV and the SOP/Essay will be shortlisted for the interview round. The shortlisted candidates need to appear for an online interview in front of the selection committee constituted in the Department.
